Offshore Races

The Race

The non-stop, no-limits round-the-world race, sailed only once in 2000-01.

Devised by Bruno Peyron, the race left Barcelona on 31 December 2000 for a non-stop lap of the world via the three great capes, on giant maxi catamarans. Club Med, skippered by Grant Dalton, won in 62 days ahead of Innovation Explorer. The finish was in Marseille.
